We’re big fans of food storage in our house for many reasons. One, it’s good to be prepared in case of an emergency. Two, it’s good to have options for dinner if I can’t make it to the store. Three, I’m a big fan of buying things on sale, and when a sale is good enough, I stock up. Here are the food staples we keep in our house.
As much as I love a chocolate chip cookie, last week I was in the mood to make a new cookie. With a lot of help from my kids, we came up with a kid-friendly, chocolate salted-caramel cookie.
A few weeks ago, I made banana cupcakes for a friend’s event. That morning, I started gathering supplies only to realize, I had forgotten to buy extra bananas the week before so they would be over-ripe for my cupcakes. I did some research and discovered how to make my bananas over-ripe.
Last week, I decided to introduce fruit pizza to my family. The problem is… I have two members of my family, who think they will promptly drop dead if they come in contact with the majority of fruits. So, I decided to make a half and half pizza. These festive bird’s nest cookies are addictively delicious and are perfect for Easter/Spring. Plus, they come together quickly and with few ingredients.
This Sunday is St. Patrick’s Day. I love this holiday because there are no obligatory traditions except to wear green, but it’s a fun excuse to celebrate. Here are a few ideas of how to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Every year for breakfast, we have Lucky Charms. We don’t often eat sugary cereal in our house, so [...]
This is a chicken recipe we make a lot because it comes together so easily and is fool-proof. Plus, it has one of my favorite ingredients in the world… curry!
Last week, I set out to make a chocolate sheet cake with chocolate frosting. As usual, I starting imagining all the wonderful things I could do with a plain sheet cake. I imagined a chocolate sheet cake topped with pecans and caramel. Of course, I couldn’t stick to my original plan of a plain, delicious chocolate sheet cake. I’m not really good at letting things be simple when chocolate is involved.
