I Am Not a “Pinterest Mom”

Don’t get me wrong. I love to browse Pinterest for new ideas and fun recipes. I’ve found some great time-saving projects, fun games for my kids and delicious recipes the whole family enjoys. I also love to post my recipes on Pinterest as a way to share them with others. But there is a difference between enjoying Pinterest and letting it govern every aspect of your life as a parent.

The Liberated Housewife

A few weeks ago I went to the gym at my usual time: 6 a.m. The man at the counter said, “Are you trying to get in that workout before you go to work.” I explained that I am a stay-at-home-mom, and I don’t have a “job” in the traditional sense of the word. He replied with, “Oh you stay home? Well that’s alright.” I looked at him for a moment and then assured him, “I’m not apologizing. I work hard and I’m very proud of what I do.”
