Honey Popcorn Recipe
Yesterday was windy. I mean VERY windy. Windy enough that the kids and I decided we’d rather stay home and have a movie day than venture out. And what goes better with a movie that popcorn? And not just any popcorn; but honey popcorn. Yum! This is one of those childhood recipes I remember having often. I mostly remember it from family gatherings on Sunday and Monday nights. It is now becoming a tradition with my own family.
Honey popcorn:
Melt together until boiling:
- 1/2 C honey
- 1 C sugar
- 1 C Butter
Pour mixture over 2 batches popped popcorn and combine. Make sure you get as many un-popped kernels out before pouring the honey mixture on top. My mom always made the popcorn by popping kernels in a popper, but I take the easy way out and just pop two bags of plain popcorn.
Enjoy this delicious concoction at your next movie night!!
This sounds absolutely heavenly! I know what I’m making with our movie night tonight 🙂
Yummy! That sounds really good. I’ve never heard of honey popcorn until now. I think I’ll run to the store and buy some popcorn, so I can try this. Hehe. Thank you for posting this up.
