Witch Hat Cookies

Here is a quick, easy Halloween witch hat cookie that requires little artistic ability, which means it’s great for me and for children. It’s a twist on the classic peanut butter cookies with a kiss, but we made them all chocolate to look like witch hats.

Make the chocolate cookie by combining:

  • 1 devil’s food cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 c oil
  • 1 t vanilla

Roll this into small balls. I made them about half the size I make my normal drop cookies.

Bake them at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.

When they come out, top them with a Hershey’s kiss, and move them to a cooling rack. If you use plain kisses, you can leave them to cool on the counter. Because I used caramel filled kisses (because why wouldn’t I when they are an option?), I put them in the fridge to set a bit. I had a few witch hats from the first batch that looked a bit like the Wicked Witch of the West melting.

That’s it! I initially planned to pipe a green ribbon around the hat, but I became far too lazy. But if you are more motivated than I was, feel free to decorate your hats with some cookie icing.

Happy Halloween!!
